Keeping Her Occupied

Whenever I'm trying to get something done in the kitchen Lisi always manages to be in the play-with-me-or-hold-me-and-if-you-don't-I'm-going-to-scream-and-pull-on-your-leg mood. When this happens I can usually just open a cupboard or the pantry and the tears will magically disappear. Then it manages to turn into a mess I have to clean up, but I would rather clean up a mess than have a tiny person I'm constantly dragging around on my leg.

Happy Halloween!

The Halloween festivities started a couple of weeks before October 31st (Grandpa is sooo happy, I'm sure!). It all started with putting up some decorations that Grandma and Grandpa sent us.

We then got a package from Grammy and Pop Pop which was filled with candy. Dave came home from work one evening and grabbed a couple of Reese's. Lisi wanted to know what was so special about a Reese's so she grabbed one right out of Dave's hand and started gobbling it right down.

We had our ward Trunk-or-Treat the Friday before Halloween and usually Dave isn't too fond of the idea of dressing up, but this year he was all into it.
Dave: Gorilla
Lisi: Banana
Me: Banana tree
(We got 2nd place for best family costume!)

We then went to a farm to pick a pumpkin and get some apple cider donuts.

On Halloween, the application Dave is on at work put together a little Trick-or-Treating so Lisi and I headed over there in the afternoon. Dave took his little banana around to the offices so he... she could get some candy.
Do you think she had fun?

That night, Lisi was a little worn out from all the festivities and skipped out on Trick-or-Treating. She handed out a few pieces of candy and went right to bed. I would have to say it was a very successful Halloween!

Happy Birthday!

Better late than never, right?

I know she doesn't look like it, but believe it or not, Lisi is one! We went out to Utah for a friend's wedding and stayed out there to celebrate Lisi's day with some family. Lisi had a blast!

We started off the festivities by going to Kneaders with Dave's brother, Matt (aka Tio)

We ate some yummy cupcakes!

Lisi loved spending time with family.

Lisi wanted to help Grandpa mow the lawn

Can you believe we've gone from this...

to this...

We love you little miss Lisi Mae! All 15.5 lbs of you!

Potty Mouth

At the tender age of one, Lisi uttered her first curse word. Oy.

We were all just hanging out after dinner when Lisi started her I-skipped-my-afternoon-nap-so-I'm-exhausted-but-wired pacing. She was going around and around the ottoman so Dave decided to take a little video. Little did we know we would get a little more than just pacing.

*Warning: There is foul language at about 1:15*

Hopefully she's gotten it out of her system.

While We Were Away

Here are several videos of meaningful moments in Lisi's life.

It's mostly funny things she's doing or baby laughter.

Here she is with her first and dearest form of communication.

What she does when she thinks no one is looking.

The tiredest baby in the world.

Her love for saving money.
Buzzing makes her happy.

Picking up after herself.

UPGRADE!

I know, I know. It has been months since I updated the blog. In my defense we have a super old laptop where we upload all of the pictures, but it takes 30 minutes to get online so by the time the pictures were uploaded I wasn't in the mood to blog. This all changed on Saturday, well yesterday, depending on how you want to look at it. On Saturday we went to Best Buy and ordered a computer which came yesterday! In a matter of five minutes I uploaded all of our pictures and I'm ready to go. Instead of catching up on the last 6 months I thought I would just start fresh.

Here's a picture from when Grandma and Grandpa Somers were here a couple of weeks ago.

Lisi was refusing to take her second nap. All she needed were some grandpa snuggles.
